Satellite Image

The VuQube enables satellite TV programming anywhere you park your truck, RV, or other vehicles, providing access to hundreds of digital TV channels and radio stations. The VuQube's Weather-resistant antenna works with *DIRECTV, DISH Network and *Bell ExpressVu receivers. *Note: The Tailgater and the Relay ONLY pickup Dish Network Satellite Signals.

It's rugged, user friendly & price conscious design make the VuQube the perfect choice for truckers wanting better entertainment options while on the road. There are 6 flavors to choose from. All have exceptionally good price points, making a Mobile Satellite TV Antenna affordable for just about anyone.

The VuQube V10 Truck Satellite TV Antenna is the most cost effective mobile Radome covered satellite antenna on the market. Its low price and ease of installation make it a perfect choice for the long-haul trucker, along with many others. Using the innovative FastFind wireless remote to position the antenna, satellite signal acquisition takes less than 5 minutes! Another innovative feature of the VuQube V10 is how it is powered. Because the antenna receives power from the DBS receiver, only a single coaxial cable is installed. Note: This highly reliable and inexpensive VuQube is being phased out, in favor of the fully Automatic Flex, which is about $150 more, if you are on a budget, grab one ASAP. Note: The V10 works with DirecTV, Dish Network and Canada's ExpressVu Satellite Receivers.

The Tailgater VQ2500 Satellite TV Antenna is a snap to use anywhere. Hang it on your Truck Window, or side, a tabletop, on the beach, on the ground, on your RV, at the cabin, camping, ice fishing, or your tow vehicle roof. Anywhere you can get a clear line of sight to the southern sky will do just fine. Technically challenged? Don't sweat it Hook the cable between the Tailgater and your Dish receiver and turn on the TV. Choose the state your in from the on-screen menu and select "Scan". That is it. The Tailgater will jump into action and locate all of the Dish Network satellites and you are ready to watch TV. It really is that simple. We know, we tried it out and it works. Note: The Tailgater only works with Dish Network.

The Flex VQ2100 Satellite TV Antenna is a also easy to use anywhere. Just like the Tailgater, you can hang it on your truck window, or side, on your RV, at the cabin, camping, ice fishing, or even Tailgating. Anywhere you can get a clear line of sight to the southern sky. Hate dealing with the technical stuff, or just do not want to bother? With the exception of a possible one time easy setup, the Flex is right for you. For DirecTV (the Flex default), just hook the cable between your Flex and your Dish receiver and turn on the TV. From the on-screen menu. choose the state your in and select "Scan". Your new Flex will locate all of the satellite signals. Note, though: The FLEX is factory pre-set for DirecTV standard digital programming broadcast from the 101° W satellite (DirecTV SD). If you also receive your local channels from DirecTV‘s 119 satellite or if you subscribe to DISH or Bell TV programming, you will need to do a one time fairly easy configuration. It may note be a simple as the Tailgater, but you get so much more. The Flex can handle DirecTV, Dish and Canada Bell ExpressVu and you can also hook up directly to, 2 receivers and watch 2 different programs on 2 different TVS. And if you want to move to another satellite service, your Flex will only need the same fairly easy one time setup and your ready to go. Note: The Flex works with DirecTV, Dish Network and Canada's ExpressVu Satellite Receive.

Here is a little Technical Information on VuQube Satellite TV Antennas for those interested. Take a look at RoadTrucker's VuQube Satellite Comparison Chart too.

"It arrived today. It's compact and ready to plug in. I connected one end of the 50' cable to the VuQube and the other to my external sat. input of the coach. I placed the VuQube with a view of the Southern sky, as directed. The remote is compact and even comes with batteries installed. I turned on the satellite receiver to see what elevation to set. I did so, on the remote, and then scanned left or right to find the satellite. The whole thing took just a few minutes." Bill Gunning, Livingston, TX

Can I install the VuQube myself?
Yes, but the ease of the install process will vary, depending on the satellite you have and how you want to install it. The window mount and side mount is extremely fast and easy, if you have the V10, the Tailgater, or the Flex. If you choose to permanently mount one of these satellites to the Truck or vehicle, then you will need to drill 4 holes and a 5th for the cable. Although not particularly hard, you should remember to use a silicone sealer, to make sure you keep moisture out. For roof mount antennas, you will need to make sure that you have an area 28" in diameter and check to make sure you have room to clear higher objects like air conditioners.

The installation is straight forward for people who have basic mechanical and electrical skills and the proper tools (see the installation manual and multimedia installation presentation for specifics). If you are permanently mounting the VuQube to your vehicle it is important to remember to environmentally seals all the holes made in the vehicle used to attach the mounting bracket and pass the wiring into the vehicle. For the satellites with a separate included power supply, it is important to make sure you connect the power harness to the specified power source.

What else besides the VuQube do I need to watch TV?
You will need an active subscription from a service provider including a receiver, in addition to a TV. You will also need a coaxial cable to connect your satellite TV receiver to the TV. The wiring necessary to connect the VuQube to the satellite TV receiver is included with the purchase of your VuQube System. For the Tailgater or the Relay, you will also need specific Dish network receivers. i.e. 411, ViP211, ViP211k or ViP211z.

VuQubes has a single out-put. What does this mean?
What this means is that you need to use a SINGLE TUNER receiver. For DISH Network we recommend the 301 or 311 receivers (See exception for Tailgater & Relay above).  For DIRECTV, we recommend the D11 or D12 receivers. You may be able to use a dual receiver, but they tend to be problematic. No, you will NOT violate your warranty by using a dual receiver.

Can I get HD with my VuQube?
The VuQube CAN receive HD signal with DISH Network and Canada Bell TV.  The VuQube CANNOT receive HD signal with DIRECTV because they use the Ka band.  King is working on updating the VuQube to receive the new Ka band HD signal from DIRECTV but is not there yet.  The update for DIRECTV will be a new system and so current VuQubes can not be upgraded.  If you have DIRECTV you will not be able to receive HD programming.

My Remote (only for VuQubes w/Remote) Keeps Flashing an E0 Error. What does this mean?
The E0 error on the Remote Control means that the Remote is NOT communicating with the VuQube. The Remote may need to be Registered to the VuQube as follows:

Set up the VuQube, and turn on the TV & Receiver. Do not turn on Remote until ready to register. With the remote close to the VuQube antenna, (approximately 3-6 ft.), press the "On/Off" button "On", and press the "Sat2" button at the same time. Hold the "On/Off" and "Sat2" buttons down for about 10 seconds. The remote will show "ID", and then ID "number", then the "Compass Pointer". The pointer will cycle "one complete revolution", and when the buttons are released, will be registered, functional, and operate the VuQube as intended. Thank you Ross Barth, Jefferson, OH.

How do I get Past the DirecTV Logo When I Turn on my Receiver?
Just press "Exit" on the DirecTV Remote. I believe this only happens with the newer Receivers.

Can I paint the VuQube?
Yes, the VuQube can be painted but you must use non-metallic paint. Metal will block the satellite signal from reaching the antenna inside the VuQube.

Why Can't I "lock-on" to a signal?
There are potentially several reasons you are unable to "lock-on" to a signal. Here are some solutions in order of the most common problems:

Believe it or not, the most common problem is that the coaxial cable from the VuQube is not plugged into to the receiver correctly. Make sure that the co-axial cable FROM the VuQube is plugged into the "Satellite-in port" on the receiver. While you are checking the connection, make sure your receiver is properly connected to the TV.

Make sure there are not any physical obstructions. The VuQube needs to have a CLEAR VIEW of the SOUTHERN SKY. Power lines, trees, buildings, other tall vehicles, obstructions mounted on your roof, your smoke stack, etc. can all block the satellite signal from reaching your VuQube. You may need to reposition your vehicle for a clear view.

Water can interfere with the satellite signal. Heavy rain or excessive dew on the VuQube can block your signal. If the VuQube is covered with moisture or morning dew, you can wipe the cover dry. If you are in the middle of a heavy rain fail, you may need to wait until the rain subsides to acquire the signal.

Can I use more than 1 Satellite with my VuQube? Yes, but keep in mind that the VuQube is a single LNB Satellite antenna, so it can ONLY be connected to 1 Satellite at a time. That means (at least with the V10) when you change from 1 Satellite to another, you will have to re-download the programming for the new Satellite. If by chance you want to jump back and forth between the 2 Dish Satellites, this could be irritating, however, all of the other King Satellites will work between satellites just fine.
